Magic is everywhere
All you have to do is tap in
I think Iāve always been organically drawn to magic.
As a child I loved to spend time among the trees, talking to them, listening to them, saying hello to the birds and other animals.
I once cried when a neighbor of my momās friend carelessly tore out birds of paradise on the driveway. āThat flower has feelingsā I screamed at her. She called me stupid and went home which, was perfectly fine with me at the time because, I would never want to spend my time with someone who doesnāt have respect for plants anyway.
As a āfeelerā I have always just intuitively known things, felt things.
I communicate with the world around me in ways most people I know do not.
My heart breaks every time I see a poor animal dead on the road. I whisper prayers as I pass, holding back tears.
I will always stop to tell my plants how good they are doing, and to thank them for growing so beautifully.
They all have names and pronouns, and earlier this year when my gardeners tore some of my flowers out, I mourned deeply.
I have rules to live by that most donāt.
Ask permission before you cut something off a plant.
Express gratitude for everything you consume.
Never miss an opportunity to stir good intentions into food and beverages.
Always take the opportunity to wish upon a dandelion or a star.
Always, when possible, park near a tree.
Never assume you are more important, or valuable than any other form of life.
These things, many probably see as āeccentricā are actually the result of my connection to magic, to my knowledge that everything has life and purpose, and deserves respect.
When people think about witches and magic, I think they mostly envision elaborate rituals and altars.
But, to be a witch and to engage in magic at least to me, is to understand this simple idea.
Coming from this mindset changes how I engage with magic on a daily and consistent basis.
I thread magic into nearly everything I do mostly consciously and sometimes, unconsciously too.
While yes, I believe in spell work, I mostly just live one long continuous spell, day in and day out.
I believe in both magic and science, and I also believe they not only do they overlap, they are also the same.
Everything is magic, everywhere is magic, for how can I believe anything else?
When even the smallest particle on earth is a complex being, nothing can be ordinary. Nothing can be inanimate.
As I begin to expand my work, Iāve been thinking a lot about this because, I think hypnosis and magic are one and the same, but also perfect partnersā¦. And I really want to talk about this more frequently.
Iām going to begin this process by sharing a story about a joyful spell I cast utilizing hypnosis as well.
It cast a wider net than I had anticipatedā¦
I started my day with a decision, that I wanted to bring the element of joy into what normally for me is a very emotionally complicated day.
I knew that in addition to adding joy to the day, I wanted to clear out any old baggage or emotions, and lastly, that I wanted to cast a circle of protection around the work to just basically seal in the deal, and keep any potential disruption at bay.
I turned on music from some of my most joyful memories of my life, to put my mind in the right mindset, and I got to work on a favorite childhood dish.
As I began to cook, I modified the recipe, to include elements of joy, cleansing, and protection, through the use of herbs, and color.
I also could not help of course, to sprinkle in some abundance too. (always manifesting!)
As I mixed and stirred, I spoke my intentions into the mixture.
As the day went on, I made sure all background music was attached to joyful memories, and later, as we all ate we infused our bodies with magical intention I set into the dish.
Everyone enjoyed the recipe, the day, and each other.
The day entire was truly magical, joyful, and abundant without disruption.
As I laid down to rest that evening, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and gratitude.
Magic doesnāt have to be hard, in fact itās simple.
Once you begin to know (not just believe) in that one simple rule, your life will become a constant ritual.
And, while you may not always know exactly how the magic will turn out, at least you know you are actively living your life with intention. āØšš
